GE Silicone 2+ sealer

What do you other do it youselfers use to seal fastener threads when replacing them on RV. I guess silicone sealer is not popular. The GE 2+ says can be used in extreme hot and cold environments. Iím trying to find out now if you HAVE to remove all of it(which is suppose to be very difficult to do without distributing it all over and or messing up the surface) or if itís real clean you can caulk over it and it will stick. Iíve used it and it is holding up so far. Thanks for any info.

I think the caution with the silicone products is that once you use it somewhere, other products like EternaBond or Dicor will not stick to the surface where the silicone was. And if you're like me when I use silicone sealers on stuff, it tends to get on things that you didn't intend it to.

This stuff is recommended in place of silicone and supposedly is what the RV manufacturers and repair folks use Geocel

Hope that helps

I just want to be outside!!!

Use it seldom.

Once it touches something it is there forever. Nothing can go over it except maybe silicon.
