Gel Coat Cracking/Crazing

Hello everyone, I need some advice please. I purchased a new 2015 Prime Time Crusader (Tan Color) last week and will be picking it up in a few days. The salesman called me yesterday and said that while they were prepping the unit they found spider web cracks in the gel coat so they will be giving me a different unit - same model. What has me worried is that if one unit has the problem, I would think that others would too. I've read a lot about this issue with gel coat on campers and boats and want no part of it if I can avoid it. Is anyone else seeing this issue? I would really like to have the camper as it fits what we need exactly (It's our fifth camper), but not if it is defective. Thank you for any advice on this. Thanks, Tubeampdr.

id prolly try to get a look at the one i was going to get. was it on a side wall where something was forcing a bulge in side? was it in a stress location? was it a "one off" issue or something that might be common? those are the questions i would try to answer for myself.

Crockett, Excellent suggestion. I'll do that when I go to pick it up on Thursday. Apparently, this is not a widespread problem with Crusaders given the lack of replies to my post. This is a good thing. Later, Doc

This is an industrywide problem. The construction of the sidewalls is now highly regulated by the EPA. Our 2015 Columbus had to be returned to the factory to have a new side wall installed. There were a lot of other campers there with the same problem. They did a great job it was all done under warranty. We are very happy
