Help Repairing Edge of Roof Seam
Hello Everyone,
As we all prepare to start the spring camping season I am trying to take care of some issues that I didn't finish before I put my camper up at the end of last season.
Long story short while on a six week trip two summers ago we had to have our roof repaired as it had come unglued. Fast forward to the end of last season; I discovered that 1) The repair shop in the middle of no where Nebraska had used silicone to seal directly above where the rubber roof met the metal screw strip for what looks to be the whole length of the trailer. The silicone is starting to come off now so I need to know what to put in its place. And, 2) as you will see in my picture there is a clear line where the roof used to be stretched to the metal screw strip and is now pulling away in one spot. I am looking for suggestions on how to fix this. (I apologize for the crummy pictures I was on a ladder in a tight space and it was really cold out!)
Do I recaulk with dicore vertical lap sealant?
Or should I use eternabond tape and cover both the screw strip and the corner of the roof?
Also, how do I go about making sure all of the silicone is removed? (I have another area on my slide that was repaired by a different dealer that they smothered with silicone!)
I am open to any ideas, but need to do something in the next week or so.
