Help With Roof

Hello,


I took our Camper in to a local RV dealer/Service Center this week. I am going on a long trip out west in a few weeks, I wanted my brakes checked.


Anyway, they did a normal check of everything on the camper and they called and said my roof needed to be redone. I forget the word, but to met they want to remove and re-caulk everything. Of course, is $1,000.


My camper is a 2017 and I was shocked that it would need this already.


I don't know much about roofs and what regular maintenance we need. We haven't had any leaks, pictures are attached. Any advice would be appreciated.

Don't do it. I don't see anything that would take more than a little cleaning and some new caulk or eternabond. Nothing near that price!!!!
If you want to be sure, call or take it to an independent service only shop (mobile or not) and get another opinion.
I inspect, clean, recaulk my roof at least once a year. All it costs me is the price of a tube of caulk (Dicor self leveling) and some time.

Do you remove all the old Caulk/eternabond every time you do it?

If it's adhering good but just some cracks just clean and seal over with more dicor self leveling . the eternabond seems to be a more permanent fix but requires a bit more prep

I will remove any loose or excess caulk (smooth it out) and then apply the new caulk over the edges of the old. And when you get tired of that, research eternabond, and don't worry about it again
But for now, just clean it (I use soap and then alcohol), let it dry well, and liberally apply self leveling Dicor of the appropriate color.
And if you hire it done, I wouldn't pay more than $200, and that is a stretch. A tube of Dicor is less than $10. There should be some you tube videos of how to DIY. Good luck and have a great trip!!!

I agree with all advice above. Only additional recommendation is do something very soon. If you're not already getting water infer the roof, it looks like you could be having problems soon.

He said they use Dicor and acrysol to repair the roof.

Help. I have a 2015 Salem estate 407 reds...I park under a big maple tree and every year in spring these streaks appear...is it leaking ?...we have caulked it twice...they stop after tree stops shedding.? I’m wondering if I should get 2 inch eternabond and do all the front seams....thank you. Sorry pics are either upside down or sideways....ugh I’m not a computer person...thank you all.

I would say you just need to clean the tree goop off your roof more often
And if you use eternabond, you won't have to recaulk that area for the foreseeable future.
