Honeymoon is over - delamination

We purchased a basically new 2016 Windjammer 3006WK (previous owner had it about 6 weeks when found out they were having twins and needed something larger to go full time in). We've had it less than a month, and this weekend I found two spots near the front of the trailer (right behind the V) that are delaminating. And, of course, since we are not the original owner, we have no warranty. No idea what to do at this point, as we have a basically new trailer that is already coming apart. And it isn't a matter of not maintaining it, as it is still the current model year! Anyone had this issue? Any suggestions?

Maybe you should write Forest River?

Forest River should make a good business decision, waive the original owner requirement in this highly unusual case and correct this for you.

I really hope so. I saw that last weekend after a heavy rain and just promptly burst into tears. We traded in our little Jayco extendable for this trailer just to get more space, but now I'm so upset - we never had this type of quality issue with the Jayco. I had heard good things about Forest River quality - now I'm definitely scared that I screwed up by trading in the Jayco!

And now Forest River owns Jayco!

The trailer was originally purchased from Camping World by the couple who found out they were having twins. Six weeks after the purchase, they traded it in for a 5th wheel that is about 6 feet longer.

We traded in the Jayco to Camping World for the Windjammer. Went from a Jayco X23B to a Windjammer 3006WK. Wanted the separate sleeping area for the girls so that they have their own space as they get older and want to bring friends (they are 9 and 6).

Extended service plan but only covers electrical, not structural.

Unwind the deal?

How long have you had it? Any chance you can unwind the entire deal? If it were me, Id NOT ask the dealer, Id ask an attorney first and get his opinion.

Second that! A product less the 6mths old SHOULD not have the delamination issues.

There was a great article on delamination repairs. Yours looks bad to you as any would but really it's easy for me to say it's not that bad looking. it looks like you caught it in time by the pictures. I doubt if that just started to begin with. Forget warrenty from CW. Forget warranty from FR also. Forget any third party one two. The wall is 1/8' board outside 2" foam and 1/8" inside (you can cut it with a box knife. You might be able to pull the trim and open the outside skin enough to get the glue in to press it back together, You would need a brace to keep the pressure up until it glues and sticks together again. Any damage to your inside paneling? If not you might get buy with just that. These walls are 3 pieces pressed together.(glued under high pressure) sorry I can't be of more help, but I just seen the factory replace my roof from delam. and it was rubber, 3/8" plywood about 3" styrofoam and the ceiling panel all pressed together. each layer glued before the press...

We have had it for three weeks and two days. Don't know that we can unwind the deal, although I'm not against trying. I'm just heartbroken. And a little peeved.

Thor owns jayco, as of last week I have not seen anything saying they sold it to Forest River also Evergreen is still on the market....Have not read or heard that Thor or FR is buying that up, Thor wants to be in the TT market.. It would be HEADLINES in the Elkhart Paper just as when Evergreen went out and Thor buying Jayco.
