I have good success with these at home for sugar ants. Little red ants that come in looking for water.
I know this sounds crazy but an old fashion way to ward off ants is to use cucumber peels. They don't like the smell but they are safe for pets. I toss a couple stings the camper kitchen corners as I peel a cucumber then toss out the next day. No mess and no ants!

Update: last night I went in and I found ants on there back kicking and some looked drunk and some were fine but there were lots of ants - I killed many and left all of the baits out and we'll see what today looks like .

Yep thats ain't bait working....bunch of drunk ants wondering around. Nice to know this worked for you...if they are carpenter ants especially. They can be picky on ant baits.

I did sweep yesterday so all new ants on the floor today, some on their back, some laying still frozen like till I touch them then they run and some walking around healthy lookin. I have maybe 5 ants in the traps so not sure if I'm making a difference. I think I'm going to get a board and just drop the liquid on it and let them have easy access to this Poison. What do you guys think ? Should I give it a few more days ?

Yes, pour it out on a board in a line. They will run into it and drink the Kool aid, it makes it easier to find.
Ps... You have a nest in there. Watch one of the heathy ones, he will lead you to it.

It can take up to two weeks to kill a nest off. The workers bring the bait back to the nest and pass it around..eventually killing off the nest. But it is not something that is accomplished in a few days.

When I had them it took about 10 days to not see any again.

If they're gone, this is late advise. If they're gone, I'm glad your problem was solved! If you want to try the natural route, spray the the floor and counters with this peppermint mixture. It also repels mice.

3/4 cup water
1/4 cup witch hazel or vodka
10 to 20 drops of peppermint oil (peppermint essential oil can be found in some grocery stores and almost all health food stores)

Put ingredients in a small spray bottle and shake before using.

This safe for people and pets, but a dog may not like the smell. It burns the noses of tiny animals, and actually kills the ants. Stronger oils must be used for cockroaches.
