Is this normal ?
We just had a new roof put on and there are bubbles around every opening and along the front and rear of roof. Is this normal ? Shouldn't there be glue in these places to hold the roofing material down. The tech said that it is the solvent in the caulk that causes the puckering of the roof, and that it will lay down when the solvent dissipates. What are your opinions ?

Of all the posts I’ve ever seen about roofing any RV, I’ve never seen anyone else report this puckering in your photos. What kind of roof material is it?

I’m by no means an expert and I’ve never seen anything like that. I’ve looked at probably 50 campers and haven’t seen anything resembling this.

They don't look like that when they come new from the factory. Shouldn't be any different if it is a replacement roof.

Looks to me like a sealant was used that wasn't 100% compatible with the roofing membrane.

That's what I'm thinking. Tech said the solvent will dissipate over time. I believe the glue they use on the roof is water based. Maybe the solvent isn't compatible with the roofing material or the glue.

Find out what type material the roof is and contact the manufacturer of the material. Send the pics. That should answer the question. Think your roof installer messed up. That's a poor caulk job on the trim strip too.

Take it back it is not normal. never saw that on a roof job before, ma be a few wrinkles here and there but that is crazy.

When my trailer first came in, there were ripples similar to what you have but no where near as prominent. The ones on my trailer have pretty much flattened out.
Just thinking, it was a week or more between manufacture and delivery of my trailer so there was some time for them to start tightening up before I saw it..

I agree with 5picker #5 above. I worked for a manufacture of epdm and tpo single ply membrane. He is correct in regards that bubbling does occur on membrane due to the off gasing if solvent based adhesives and will suck back down to substrate. HOWEVER, in this case NO! A solvent was used for seaming and it was incompatible with the material. Regardless if this is a thermoplastic or thermoset membrane.

I wouldn't live with that...the tech is giving you a line of BS.....GO SEE THE SERVICE MGR.....and if he don't put a new roof on for you....keep going to the top....THE SQUEEKY WHEEL GETS THE GREASE......

I have seen this most notably on epdm roofs. It seems to last about 1 to 2 weeks depending on temperature. It always seems to lay down. Laying a dicor roof with their underlayment glue, putty tape, and sealant from the roof kit will still have this happen.
I have only layed alpha tpo twice also using the proper install kits and had bacon edges for a while as well. It seems to lay down fine but seems very odd for a couple of weeks.
