Ladder help..........

I need a ladder for my 2011 Rockwood Ultra Light RL 2604!!

Does anyone know what brand is used by the factory?? My dealer wont tell me, and wants to charge $400 to install one!!!

My trailer apparently Does have the braces for the ladder, so it should not be that big of a deal.

Has anyone installed a ladder on their trailer, and if so what brand, how difficult, etc????

First of all, how do you know the trailer has the braces for the ladder? Next, even if you find the "brand", they are not that universal as to mounting points. I would call the factory, and check the price, and get it shipped to you. Better price shipping also, won't be cheap.

Try dropping a note to Stephanie Richardson in our Flagstaff / Rockwood Division. She might be able to help. Include your VIN in your correspondence. Her e-mail is srichardson@forestriverinc.com.

If you haven't installed your ladder yet, I can give you alittle advise. I called Forest River plant manager and he checked my model & vin # to see if my trailer had the backing in the wall(it did). Next he had me talk to the installation manager on location/position of the ladder. Next, I ordered the ladder from my dealer. You can get the 1 piece ladder(more expensive & higher shipping), or the 2 piece ladder which I ordered that had cheaper shipping. Call Forest River parts department for the model # of the 2 piece ladder. Get some screws from your dealer also for installation. Once receiving the ladder & marking your holes, pre-drill your holes so you don't splinter the fiberglass & use silicone to seal your holes. I used Dicor self leveling caulk on top where the ladder contacts the membrane. Good Luck.

As far as contacting Forest River parts dept, I also would like to call them about my '06 Cedar River, however with the 9" stack of documents I cannot find any information on calling them. Any numbers would be appreciated.

consider replacing the screws in the ladder with stainless steal. mine that attach the ladder to the standoff rusted out. i replaced all of them with stainless all thread. u wouldn't have to go to that extreme if u start with stainless.

John,
thanks for the info. I did get some info via email from the factory, but not the level you seem to have gotten.
No one mentioned a two piece ladder, because the shipping on the one piece is awefull.
I am curious, is it this??>Universal RV Ladder by Christianson Industries

for $138 it would be awesome....

Maybe you can share some names and phone numbers of the contacts as well as the part number via a PM???

BTW, what model TT do you have??

To be perfectly honest, I don't know her exact title. She works in our parts and service center for the Flagstaff / Rockwood Division, and is pretty much my "go to" person.

If the mounting points aren't identical in location as the factory ladder, you wouldn't be lining up with the blocking/backing in the wall.
