Leak Not Covered!

Forest River will Not cover leak on my camper only a year and a half old camper.
Their should be no leak on a new camper. This seems like a manufacturer problem but they want to say it's a maintenance problem. That's sad they don't stand behind their product.

The wallpaper in the bathroom is bubbled on outer wall. There is no wet spots seems strange to be a leak.

only warranteed for a year. after 1 year, it is on you. Proper inspections and annual resealing might have helped

Any water out of any of those blisters at any time? The vinyl wall covering is just adhered to the veneer wood substrate and it's not unusual for there to be gaps in the adhesive. Changes in humidity can cause the vinyl to lift as well as a leak.

That's a good sign!

I see you have an R-Pod 178 so that's in the wet bath then. Only takes a pinhole in the wall covering to let the humidity and moisture from showering cause that, especially where the adhesive wasn't even. Do the blisters appear larger after a shower?

Do note that R-Pods require regular roof inspection and maintenance per every owner we have ever met in our travels. Owners have said sealant around the roof vents cracks pretty easily. That's really true of lap sealants in general. Since you haven't had obvious water, chances are less that you have an actual leak.

Alright. Given you live in the south, did you store it with at least Damp Rid inside? Any exterior cover or not?

Have you inspected the sealant around the roof vents and such for brittleness and cracks?

I did not know about damp rid and I have no cover on it.

It is a good idea to have a desiccant inside when stored or closed up without ventilation, especially in very humid environments. Some of us actually run dehumidifiers.

In light of being stored and without a cover, I'd recommend you give the sealant on the roof a good look, and keep an eye on the blisters. If they prove to stay dry and roof sealant looks ok, humidity probably did its thing. If so, you can try to reactivate the wall covering adhesive with a hairdryer on low till warm and then smooth with pressure - roller, book wrapped in a cloth, etc.

It's the lap sealant it dries out and cracks and causes leaks, unless you go up on your roof multiple times a year this is what happens.

Looks very similar to my issue, see link below for pictures. As it turned out, it was a leaky window that went into the wallboard. Mine is a solid board, with textured finish, no wallpaper, if newer, yours is likely the same.

So you post that you have a leak that isnt covered because you're out of warranty, and claim FR wont stand behind their product, but you actually didnt have a leak. Improper storage with no maintenence since you've owned it

Wow, that was a bit harsh and uncalled for. The actual cause is not known. For a solid wall board to have this type of protrusions, is more than likely a leak. It is highly unlikely that internal unit moisture could get behind a solid non-wallpapered board. If it is a leak, on year and a half old RV, FR should be accountable, be it poor roof construction caulking or improper window sealing.
At the very least don't cast judgement until cause is known.

Just for the FYI purpose, I have a post on another thread that is similar to this in the fact that neither FR or the dealership through which the trailer was bought through will do anything to repair a staple coming through the membrane,,,Sherm

Puncture the bubble with a straight pin and see if any moisture comes out. It could be an air bubble from the laminate underneath expanding and contracting.

BTW, FR does offer a 2nd year warranty at time of purchase. Dealer should have told you about that.
