Maxx Air vents

I installed 4 Maxx Air vents over the 4 vents on my Coachmen Class C according to their directions. Unfortunately they seem to make wind/rattling noise when traveling at anything over 40mph, especially the one directly over my head. Any solutions?

This may sound like a dumb question but did you place the outlet of the maxim facing to the rear? I would also check to ensure all the hardware is tight and that with the original vent lid open it is not hitting the Maxair cover.

thanks for your reply seadog, check on all those things. The cover is installed correctly and tightly, I think it's just the nature of the beast

Just to be certain....
Are you hearing the rattling noise even with the original vents closed?

Another question...
How can you have a vent directly over your head in a Class C? I thought you have the roof of the vehicle over top of you with a small space in between before the house part has its roof over top of that. Like....are you based on a Ford E350 or E450 chassis?

Try running your manual vents ALL THE WAY to the top, so they can't move.
That may fix your rattle problem. My guess is the actual vent covers have a little play in them.

thanks for replies, yes there is a vent right over the middle of the upper bunk, over my head. I know it's not the original vents as the noise didn't start until I installed the MaxxAir II, but I like the idea of opening the manual vent until it puts pressure on the maxxair to hold it still, thanks
