New Keys

Trying to figure out how to get some new keys for entry door. Don't have the key. It is lost. Maybe a factory phone number is someone has it.

What brand do you have? I should be able to get you a number.

If you'll call Mitch Wirt at the Berkshire plant, (574) 295-2117, and give him the last 7 digits of your VIN, I think he'll be able to help.

Ok. Just info-- the key I need is for the dead bolt on the door. Forest River returned my call and advised me that the dead bolt key is the one that they can not duplicate.

One has to get a locksmith and maybe get one made or change the lock mechanism.

Russel, this may be a good excuse to put on a digital lock. I've been thinking of doing one on mine so I won't be hosed if I forget or lose the keys....

Well if anyone wants to PM me I'll tell u how I got into my coach after losing the only key I had to the deadbolt.

Now FR tells me they have the new lock assembly. Something like $265. FR thinks a locksmith can make a deadbolt lock key??? The sad thing is that I only got one set of keys?? Dealer said they only had one set ??

I'll check with a locksmith. Also be interested in info on a key system

Sounds like your dealer lost your extra set of keys. I got so many keys with mine that I had to air up my tires lol

New Keys

We just took delivery of a used 2012 Lexington from a dealer 175 miles away and when we got home they did not give us the deadbolt keys and they could not find them. We had a mobile locksmith come to the house and in 45 minutes and $80 later we had 3 of them.

That's good to know. That's better than $265 for new assembly. I may take coach to a town that has a locksmith. We live in middle of corn & bean fields. House call out here might not be cheap. But thanks

FYI. -- My earlier post I lost my only key to the deadbolt on the door--

Factory -- no luck other than new assembly $265.00

Locksmith. Unable to get it?

So I called TRI/MARK. In Iowa. They make the lock assembly.

Gave them the 3 letters that are on the outside of the door on the lock.
They told me immediately my key #. And then cut me three keys & sent them to me. $10. Set up and $3 per key plus shipping. $21. Not bad at all !!!

Glad everything worked out for you Russell. I knew there would be a simpler solution.

Probably have to call FR with your vin#. There is a cylinder key code on the lock itself, but unfortunately it's under the door handle cover on the INSIDE. Your local dealer might have an alternative solution. You don't know anyone that could pick it for you? Good Luck~

I don't know anything about the set up on the Rockwell. Mine has a 3 letter code right on the lock tumbler on the outside. It was a Tri-Mark key. I called that code to Tri-Mark in Iowa and they made me new keys?
