Ooooops - Hit a tree

We were moving the camper to get it level before opening the slides. The TV turner too sharply and the camper swiveled on the wheel axis and the back 6" of eaves trough and the downspout rubbed against a tree.

Damage = bent trough and a torn downspout. I immediately pushed the soft white stuff around to make sure there were no water entry places. Using a piece of wood trim I was able to bend the eaves trough back out. Not perfect but will do the job.

I would like to get more of that white doughy stuff but I haven't a clue what it is called.

It is the same stuff that surrounds the roof vents, skylights etc. Very soft and putty like.

What am I looking to buy? Thanks all...

Heather

Self leveling dicor I'm assuming.

Sorry to hear about that. But, rest assured many/most of us have been there, too

As for the "white doughy stuff" I also think you are referring to Dicor LAP Sealant.

Thanks Turbs and Scott. Heading to store to pick some up! How hard is it to replace the little downspout that is cracked?

You're welcome.

Are you looking to replace this ...

If so, then Camping World, Dyers, and your dealer should have them. Here's the link for Dyers.

One other thing - be careful at the hardware store that you do not buy silicone. That is not what we were referring to.

Dicor and the like are usually found at RV stores. At least my hardware stores have never carried them.

Dicor Self-Leveling Lap Sealant

There is also a sealant for vertical surfaces that is not self-leveling.

Yup - it is cracked where it joins the camper. I can likely put some silicone on it but would like to properly fix it when I can. Thanks for the link!

Hopefully can find the sealant in Canada. There are a number of RV stores around. Likely not as inexpensive as Camping World. If not will get some in June when we go to Michigan.
