Picking up previous thread on stained exterior

The entire front of our 2801Q Class C is badly stained. The stain is in/on the plastic film overlay. Nothing will remove it; even a professional couldn't. Only solution: remove and replace the entire overlay. Talked to FR and they sent me to the sub contractor in Elkhart that originally installed it. They can remove and replace (not cheap) and we plan to have them do it. (No warranty in force.)

But here's several issues. Insurance won't cover it; gave me much gobledygook. Said it was product failure, not external source. Said that "Diamond Shield" is only brand with lifetime warranty and it's more expensive. A friend with a Class A is having his removed and not replaced, saying it will just happen again in a few years.

So before we get 'er done (just before Aug. rally, we hope), I am seeking any opinions/ideas you guys and gals might have on this subject. And I am grateful for your help.

IMO clear overlays are sacrificial and it did it's job protecting the gel coat or paint. If it wasn't expected to stain, ding, scratch, etcetera, then what's the purpose? I would replace it and move on.
