Prepping a trailer for the sun

Just wondering what others have done to prep their trailer for outside storage in an area like Palm Springs. We bought a pad here and will be leaving the fifth wheel here permanently. Is a UV protection better than a cover? What other things should one do to keep it from taking a beating by the sun?

My TT is parked about 40 miles away. All I'm doing is having the roof checked every year - it is the "no service needed" type the name of which I have currently forgotten. Not much I can do to prevent sun blast because the perpetually high winds at the storage yard will blow off any covers and rub the paint raw. If you can find indoor storage, go for it. At the lot, there is a long waiting list for indoor storage and the price is 5X outdoor.

Cover your tires well, windows if possible and hope that the blowing sand does not abrade too much (may not be a problem where you are), seal against rodents. Then enjoy life and let your insurance do what it must if it must.

Hopefully, some more knowledgeable folks will soon pipe up and maybe I can learn something too.
