Repair Small Roof Tear on Edge?

I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how best to tackle this puncture/tear as it is right at the edge.

We had a damaging winds/hail storm come through saturday evening. Sunday morning I got up on the camper and cleared several small branches off the top of the camper and found this small puncture/tear in the roof right at the edge. I have already ordered the Dicor patch material, some roof cleaner, self leveling lap sealant and also non leveling lap sealant. I'm thinking I'll clean the roof in that area, apply the patch, seal round the sides farthest from the edge with the self leveling stuff, and on the edge I'll use the non leveling as I don't want to run down the side into the gutter. Does that make sense or is there a better way to tackle this area so close to the edge?

X2 on the Eternabond. Make sure you clean the area with acetone before applying the tape.

Im just curious, if you already bought the repair material why are you asking us what we think? It seems you have already made up your mind and we aer wasting our time answering.............

I repaired a 2" cut at the edge of the roou Burdick slipping the patch through the slit' pulling the cut roofing tightly over the patch the filling the gap with roofing caulk. Can't really see it from the ground.

Short answer...Because I haven't made up my mind, I'm looking for input on the plan I laid out for the repair.

Long answer....I stated my plan on how I am going to repair it and what materials I purchased to execute the plan. I am looking for input from someone who has experience repairing a puncture this close to the edge to make sure what I am doing makes sense or if there is possibly something I'm not thinking of. I don't want to have to redo the repair later or possibly incur more damage t due to the repair being done incorrectly. When the other members responded with the eternabond answer I researched it and it appears as if the patch I bought is similar to eternabond. Since I have already purchased that maybe someone can offer a reason for using that over what I have, if they believe it is better? I responded to that with a question trying to confirm that.

If you think I'm wasting your time why even respond and waste more of it? Just saying.....

If the roof is fiberglass, then the best permanent repair is with fiberglass cloth and resin. clean and sand rough, then apply cloth and saturate with resin. remember, the resin sets up in 5-10 minutes. once resin has saturated the cloth, cover with wax paper and smooth by hand. cleanup with resin is with acetone. once cured, remove wax paper and sand for a better appearance.

When I toured the factory, I asked a manager about repairing a roof tear. He gave me a scrap of the roofing material and said to apply it with a hair dryer or heat gun. That's all that is needed.

Thanks, I didn't mention it, but this is a rubber roof(EPDM i think). I figured you could tell from the picture(the picture is showing up for everyone right?), but I probably should have stated that. It looks like I can no longer edit the original post.

okay. Dicor makes great products for rubber roofs. be sure to clean well with solvent such as xylene, denatured alcohol or paint thinner. acetone works well but is strong. need to test a small aera to make sure it does not attack the rubber. just follow the directs from Dicor. remember, MUST be clean.

If the tear is the small black dot to the right of center and close to the dark line then your repair would work well and be permanent. If it is the dot then a small dab of Dicor would work as well. I use and recommend Eternabond tape when necessary but there are other methods depending on what the conditions are.

It's the spot right along the edge closer to the left side of the slide out. Here is a zoomed in version. The black line is the end of my roof line/gutter on the drivers side, above the line in the picture is the slide out for the kitchen. I guess it's hard to judge perspective from that picture if you don't know how it was taken.

Since you have ordered the material, use it and it will work well. Adding Dicor around the edges will be added insurance. Had you not ordered the material you stated Dicor leveling or non-leveling would have worked just as well. Inspect the repair every time you inspect the rest of the seams that are covered with Dicor
