Replacing roof vent

While tightening down the roof vent in our bedroom, the side of the gear housing popped off from it's rivets so I couldn't open or close the vent. I ended up cutting the screen so that I could get a string around the mechanism and tie the vent closed. The dealer will replace this vent and I am wondering about getting a vent that has the amber coloured top. Would this help to keep the bedroom darker on those mornings when the sun comes up early?
Thanks,
Don

I would go with either the amber or the smoked color to keep the beloved sun light out.

Leave the color of the vent and just put Black Maxair II's on over the vents.

Unless ur in a hurry, u can take the crank handle. Off, unscrew the vent cover flange fm the ceiling and save ur screen.

I've had the rear one come loose from the moving bar; from the roof, duct taped it closed.. It held a lot better than I expected.
