Unhappy Rockwood 2701SS Vent Pipe

On the Rockwood 2701SS the black tank vent pipe is exhausted through the back side of the unit at about 5 feet high with a restricted opening. Guess what? It is difficult to exhaust the fumes from the tank very well. Does anyone know of any possible solution to this dilema, or is it just keep as clean and free flowing as possible. Love to hear of any solutions.:

Are you sure this is your black vent? My Rockwood 8280SS has a similar vent, about 5 ft off the ground, but it's for the galley.

I have 2 grey water tanks and the black tank. From following the vent lines inside I am pretty sure the side vent on mine is the black. Especially when emptying it. The smell comes from this vent. My black has its own hook up and valve for emptying. The two grey water tanks are tied together after the flush valves and have their own connection for emptying the black and grey never meet.
