Roof Patches

I am looking at a used 5th. 2013 that has a Satellite receiver installed on roof, and also small 6" patch. I found no signs of water damage on ceiling in bed room. But I see no reason for the satellite receiver on the roof I would like to have the dealer remove the receiver and patch the opening. I guess my real question would this be a deal breaker? If patched would it last as long as the roof? Thanks for your help

Depends on how it is patched. If it is done correctly, should be find.

If EPDM roof, I'd cut out a patch that overlaps the "hole" by several inches, bond it with industrial adhesive, and then eternabond the seam.

If the roof is already patched 6 inches, consider the roof totalled and subtract 6-8 thousand dollars off book value to ensure you are getting a good deal. Per my insurance adjuster, any tear larger than a silver dollar is sufficient to total the roof as a loss.
