Roof repair

Hello everyone! Just joined.
I'm about purchased a 1997 19 ft. Forest River Salem but it has a leak in an area on the roof. Can anyone help me with what type of material or product that was used for the roof in that year by FR so I may buy the right stuff for this job and maybe help me with what product to buy. Thank you all.

upstateboy,

If you check with your local FR dealer you will be able to ask their service or parts dept. They will have a kit with the proper components. Patches and the appropriate adhesive. You will be able to cut to fit the size of the patch and apply the adhesive and the patch and you should be good to go.

Good luck and welcome and most of all Congrats on your purchase.

In 1997 that'd be a EPDM (rubber) roof membrane. If the membrane doesn't need replacing and you're looking for sealant, the original sealant was Dicor lap sealant. A lot of people today suggest repairing it with Eternabond tape. Eternabond works really well but you must follow the installation instructions exactly to get a permanent repair.

As Bama said, Dicor if it's a rubber roof or try this stuff if not:
