Roof Sealant

I have a 2009 Rockwood Signature 8317SS travel trailer. I'm in the process of resealing my roof vents etc. Am I correct in assuming that I have a rubber roof and that I use Dicor Self Leveling Lap sealant for EPDM and TPO roofs. When I bought the tube it only comes in white or ivory. My roof has "black" sealant around all my vents etc. I guess I'm a little confused.

Black most likely cause its dirty or someone put on the wrong sealant.

Bought the trailer new in 2009. Straight from the factory dealer.

Spoke with Forest River and they told me that the sealant (black) was manufactured by Alpha Systems Inc. They also told me that my trailer had an Alpha Ply Roof and was sealed with the Alpha black lap sealant. I called Alpha and they verified that the Dicor (white) sealant was compatible. You learn something new every day.

The self leveling stuff works really well. Used 1/2 a tube this weekend being overly cautious over every small holeish looking thing.

So Dicor Self-Leveling comes in three color's.

501LSW - White
501LSD - Dove (bright white)
501LSV - Ivory

1st year with TT so had some roof repairs to do last weekend and the only kind of Dicor the local dealer had was the Dove (bright white).. No problem I thought (bright white should work), Trailer has white EPDM rubber roof with white sealant. Well, to me the Dove (bright white) appears to be more of a gray color. I think the label should be changed to say "Dove Gray" because there's nothing "bright white" about it.

I've since ordered some of the 501LSW through CampingWorld.com

Having a boat too, I used 3M fast drying 4200 sealant on several spots that looked suspicious when I bought my TT BRAND NEW! I used this stuff for under the water line on the boat so I'm assuming it's going to work even better on the roof of the TT. 3M 5200 is even more durable but it's kind of permanent and a pain to remove.

I bought tubes of Dove white as well. Yeah, nice grey tinge. Took unused tubes back and did the rest of the Roo in actual white.
