Roof tape

I was getting ready to wash the slide roofs today when I noticed the tape on the roof was pulling away and holding some water after the recent rain. You can see it in the pictures. ID:	76512question is whether I can cut and remove the tape that is loose and then cover with eternabond tape or whether I need to remove all the old tape first. I was going to put one layer over the screws and another layer up on the slide wall overlapping the bottom tape. I hope that made sense. Thanks for your help.
