Question Roof vent problem

Recently bought 06 Surveyor sv264. Just noticed tonight that when closing the sky light vent in the bedroom that it wouldn't close all the way. The only way to close it was for me to get on the roof and push it down as my wife cranked it down. It wouldn't seal tight, but at least it should keep rain out.

The cranks on the other vents stop turning when they are sealed tight. The bedroom crank knob keeps turning but does not tighten. Is there an adjustment or a part fix? Also how do you remove the vent screen.

The Vent Elevator/Operator is striped internally.

Non-Powered Vent Operator w\Handle

Two Phillip head screws hold the screen in place.

I agree with milzat. Its probably been turned a little to tight a few times when it has been closed and has stripped out.

Or the screw in the center of the knob needs to be snugged down. This is easy to check and will not require you to take anything apart.

I found this out on mine last week. Hope this helps.
