Salem Hemisphere nose cap

Recently picked up a Salem Hemisphere, travel trailer. they happen to have a dark brown fiberglass front end. So only have 50 moles on this unit, and tow vehicle has already thrown a stone into fiberglass causing a chip. I will repair that... The question is this. What creative ideas have you done or seen to reduce stone chips from roadway?
I wanted to have covers made of material bed tarps are made of in brown and have snaps on them and install them when towing only, not leave on all the time. Something 2'x3' on each side. However my better half is far from sold on that idea. So hoping you all can throw me some ideasClick image for larger version

My heritage glen sister brand to yours has spray on bed liner half way up the front cap. Seems to provide a lot of protection. I am not sure if the dealer put it on or if it came like that from the factory.

Hope that helps,

What touch up paint did you use for the front nose cap? Can't seem to find one locally for a close match. Just something to cover up the rock chips like you said.

I would stear clear of covering with any snap on cover while in motion. You will get lots of wear on the gel coat from the cover. We get this a lot in the boating industry from towing with covers on boats.

This is a issue with trailers as the TV tires kick up everything off the road right back and into the trailer, with this said you can a couple of things;
1) get a rock guard tow flap system that installs on the hitch or ball and had two heavy duty rubber flaps that will slow down some of the debris being thrown back.
2) have the front of the trailer sprayed with some kind of protectant, it could be like the motorhomes get, which is a heavy plastic type product, or have it sprayed with a rock guard product like a bed liner type product.
3) look online for the plastic rock guard looks like aluminum you would see on trucks ( can not remember the name of the look) but has the cross hash on it, you can get this product in sheets and glue it on the front of the coach like a lot of companies do.

Hope some of this helps and good luck and Happy Camping

Salem Hemisphere paint code for the front cap is PCP-600 and the formula for it is listed above this is a Dupont Axalta paint.

Ok thanks. I tried to google search those paint codes to see if there is a cross for a small bottle of touch up, so far no luck. I was looking for the type you can find at an auto parts store.

Update, finding paint has become imposable and I don't understand. So I took paint code to paint supplier. They said they would have to research code. While that was happening, I emailed FR, they replied with another paint code, since it was different than what I had the first time I emailed them back asking which one was correct. There response was telling me to contact Topeaka graphics. ( there painter ) so I did, spoke to a Nice guy Ken, he ultimately told me that they use the paint code I was given, but they custom tint it to match a sample that FR supplies. Then I called FR back and explained this, they were speechless. I last simply asked FR to supply me with the sample they supply Topeaka graphics with. If I ever get that I'll then have it color match at paint supplier. This seams out of control, when I'm looking for 1/2 oz off touch up paint.
What happens if damaged requiring paint wok at body shop, what would they do to match paint.

Goto a good ppg autobody shop. They have a machine that analyzes the paint and spits out a exact paint code
