Screws showing around full perimeter of Fiberglass Roof
Hello,
I have a 2013 Sunseeker with a fiberglass roof. I finally climbed up on the roof today to check the integrity of the seals around the roof vents, skylights, etc.
I was surprised to see that screws were showing all around the perimeter of the fiberglass roof which were thru a trim piece which acted as a transition to the sidewall. Is it normal to see these screws all around the perimeter on the roof ? Do you think I should put a dab of Dicor sealant on each screwhead? I have not noticed any leaks so far.
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

What can it hurt to put a 'dab" on these screws?

I guess I am wondering if these unsealed screws are a factory oversight.

Screws showing around full perimeter of Fiberglass Roof
Another thread suggested some come from the factory with all screws dicor'ed. Mine didn't so a little dab will do ya. Better safe than sorry.

Dicor, or for a more long term solution, Eternabond tape. Screw them back down first.

Had the sae issue with our 2014 2500TS Sun Seeker Covered each one with a dab of dicor.. Firstly cleaned each one with mineral spirits. Looking at eternal bond also but dicor (lap sealant) should do the trick for now. Amazing that one spends all this money and gets to see a whole bunch of exposed screws on the roof.

I used Dicor (lap sealant) it seemed to fill in the areas around the screw heads with no issues. Covered them completely.

Eternabond should be considered a permanent fix, Dicor needs to be checked at least every two years. A 2 inch wide strip of Eternabond that reaches all the way around the perimeter of your roof is going to cost significantly more than a tube of Dicor.
I prefer Eternabond when sealing seams and screw heads.

I was considering cutting small squares from my roll of Eternabond to cover each screw. The roof is a textured fiberglass. Do you think this would work ( seal) ?

Eternabond looks like a great product. I have 3 slide toppers on our 2500TS so there is no way I can get to tape the slides tops.. However on other parts of the roof I have seen where some people dicore the edges of the eternabond tape.
With this in mind we are back to inspecting the dicore lap sealant. On another point we have Maxx Airs on all of our roof vents so they do afford quite a bit of protection for the dicore around the vents.
Will order some on the net and cover those expose screws.
