Self drilling screw source
See picture below. I’ve tried looking in various places.
What are these called? Look like some type of tamper evident indicator. These hold the plasticor belly on in nimerous places.
They are self drilling with hex head, “protected” by the plastic fingers surrounding the screw heads.
Maybe I am not sufficiently experienced.
Thanks in advance.

That's to hold it up. Need that big washer to spread the load to keep it up.

Many of the 'screws' are Ramset fasteners installed at the factory with a 22 caliber driver.
They are 'shot' into the frame and a bugger to get out.

Thanks to 5Picker. I snapped one of the heads off and felt up inside. A nice pointy powder driven item.

You can get self drilling screws with fender washers that closely match the diameter of the original fasteners.
Or you can just buy a RamSet and some fasteners to match!

A good quality neighborhood hardware store will more than likely have a good selection the self tapping screws & fender washers. Some stores may even have a small selection of screws with the washer included. I prefer Ace Hardware for stuff like that but, HD, Lowes & Menards should also have some.

You will have better luck at an industrial supply house than most big box lumber yards. In larger towns there will quite often be a fastener specialty store. I use Triangle Fastener in the Raleigh, NC area and Tidewater Fasteners in the Norfolk, VA area. If you are in the KC area Dynamic Fasteners is a great choice. Fastenal is an option, but usually they have to order stuff in my experience.

Geez, Amazon sells the screws and washers. Just remove one and measure it and buy the correct size screws and washers.
Search for self tapping screws for metal on Amazon and you will find what you need.

Any tricks to getting them out? I want to run some electrical but was dismayed to see these Ramsey fasteners.

Actually I would go to ACE hardware. I went to Fastenal to buy Two 3/4 fine thread 3/4 inch long Grade 8 set screws Nope they would need to special order and minimum was ten. I went to Ace and they had them in stock.

You could try a drill, but I think a angle grinder would do a faster job. Just grind the head till it will pry off or fall off.

Those powder fasteners are hardened steel so you're not going to drill them out. Your best bet is to grind them off and then use a pin punch to punch them on through the beam if you want to reuse the holes.

Underbelly Fastners
You can get self-drilling hex head screws at Home Depot or Lowe's. To remove the ramset pins, use a pair of vise grip pliers, grab the head and turn the pin back and forth while pulling down. Once you get it loose slip a flat bar under the washer and pry it down while turning pin back and forth. Real easy once you get the hang of it.
