90° left to 90° right is 180°! I think you mean 360°.

So wait...your Reese was engaged and it was pivoting from the pin BOX and not the Kingpin (the mounting on the bed of your truck)

There is a shipping/RV Lot bolt that is usually inserted at the Reese pivot point (by the RV dealer) to make it easier to move around the lot -- are you *sure* this bolt was removed (I know our dealer has forgotten to on occasion!)

Just chalk it up to experience, call insurance and pay the deductibles, we have all had issues of some sort. That bolt sounds interesting..

Sorry to hear about the mishap!!! 180 turns arent nessasary for tight places, you still have to bring the TV out of that tight turn. And by the way where was your spotter when this happened Cheers Bill

Okay, let's get a little heat off of you. Some others of us make dumb mistakes who won't admit it. I will.

Back in the late '70s, we stayed over a few extra days on the 4th of July. We had a new Class C and launched the boat. The launch parking lot was empty except for one other vehicle and trailer. Now, mind you, big parking lot and one other patron. I managed to back into it. Minor damage to the two trailers, but devastating to the ego.

Long story short, I dented my Dodge Ram right behind the left rear door and proceeded to put a pretty good "bump" into the front left corner of our new 5th Wheel (pics included). My question: Can I simply seal it good (my ego won't ever be the same, which is probably a good thing), or do I need something more?
Sorry to hear. Takes a lot of man to admit that. Good for you.

We have had the HiJacker Autoslide hitch (Just got the latest version) since day one and they have worked wonders for us.

With a short box I can make 90 degrees and still have 1 inch between the cab and trailer.

Nobody got hurt, that's the main thing.

Cheers,

I have a 16k Pullright Superglide and love the way it keeps me out of trouble .. It didn't keep me from short cornering into a truck stop and crinkling my Columbus under my water heater.. Again .. Called insurance and paid the deductible.. I make wider turns now and make sure I'm past my trailer tire's on corners..

Thanks Frozen...

OK, Friends (at least those that will call me that), here is the gist:

After speaking with the dealer they confirmed that they never showed me how to initiate the Reese. The lock pins were still in place (so much for 8 months of so called investigation - wait maybe that's the investigator's fault not the information - oh well). The 5ver was pivoting from the hitch in the bed of the truck - not the Reese. I have an appointment with the dealer's repair for next Tuesday. I tried not to be too "angry" and accepted my culpability in the matter, but reminded/let them know that had I not been "taught" what needed to happen to engage the Reese for my short bed. We shall see how much of the damage costs they will "own". If not, then it will be an expensive lesson. Special thanks to Frozen for private messaging me - taking time to be empathetic and pointing me in the right direction!!!!!

Thanks again, Frozen! If we ever meet up, I'm buying
