Anyone had to have the dealer shorten the roof on their new PopUp trailer because the roof was made too long and because of this the weatherstripping doesn't even contact the box in the front or back?

add thicker weatherstripping? cheaper and easier than shortening roof i would imagine.

Not possible. You have to look at the picture to understand. The roof is about 1 1/4 inches too long.

Have you tried to email someone at Coachmen to discuss the seal arrangement of the roof to the camper body. I find it very hard to believe that the roof was made too long.

That seems crazy that it would even make it out of the factory like that. I would definitely contact Coachman.

I have. Initially I was told it was swelling from the trip on the ship.
I've never seen plywood get longer from moisture though!
I can't believe the dealer didn't catch it!
I'm attempting to get a resolution to this, that's why I posted the question.

Here are some pics. I was just told that the dealer I bought from has four units right now that measure the same overhang. I don't know if the seals on those four work.
This is with the roof pushed back so at least the front seal touches the box.
I can put my finger up inside the trailer!
Here is the front without it pushed back.
This is the rear...
Now I'm just waiting to hear from Viking what to do. The GM of Viking has already sent me all new weatherstripping, but because the roof is too long, the canvas is tight as a drum, which isn't a good thing.

Four weeks and still no response.
I'm truly surprised. And not a happy camper...

I know that our pup the roof hing over each end, but it was really more like half an inch. That looks wrong. That grey weatherstrip should be almost flat.

Coachmen sent me the instructions on how to remedy the situation and extra parts I needed to do everything. No charge, of course!
It took 5 weeks, but Connie and Chris at Viking got it done!
Now just waiting for warmer weather....

They sent me instructions as how to fix it, and all the parts I need, plus some other parts I wanted. It's been too cold to fix, so hopefully I'll be able to do it this month.
