Looks like I will be using Turtle Wax Ice, after watching a dozen you tube videos and reading some forums, Ice seems to be a good product that works well.

I have used the product before on my vehicles and was satisfied with the results. I will give it a shot on the new mini.

My previous TT was a trail-lite Thumper, beige in color, no matter what I did with it, I could not get it to shine. I used poliglow and it lasted a couple of months or so and it was not even, Red Max from lowes did the same lasted longer but it was not a smooth finish. I did not try Nu-Finish, even though it sounds like a good product I am concerned about the effect it might have on the graphics.

Finally, I am getting estimates for an awning, man its a lot of mula ! If that gets too expensive I will have to go for an RV cover to keep the sun damage to a minimal.

Last Minute Change of Mind on Polish

Well, after a few more searches online for an rv polish and continued comments on turtle wax "Ice" I made the decision to purchase Shurhold Pro Polish.

I ordered it yesterday morning and it arrived a few minutes ago, shipping was to be 3-7 days.

If the rain stops I will be giving our Bertha a fresh coat of polish this coming weekend.

Ok so its a week later, did you use the Shurhold? I have asked this same question on the MH forum and most were on board with Mothers Marine Wax. Sounds like alot of work to me. I have used Nu-Finish going back to the 80's and my boating days. That is my go to wax but looking to try something different. Older and lazier!

No, I could not do it this past weekend, was hit with the flu and have been in bed just about everyday with zero energy.

Planning on giving it a go this coming weekend if the rain holds back a little.

This is rainy season in Miami, so it rains on and off constantly.

I did a small patch on the truck though 3 x 3 and it was super shiny, I am sure it will not shine like that on fiberglass but as long as it provides some good long lasting protection I am happy camper.

I also plan on using 303 protectant on the roof, will be using a swifter stick mop to apply the product.

I will post pics and my feed back on the product as soon as I can.

Ok did a spot test a little while ago 1'x7" or so.

Product goes on easy, but I think it will be best with a small orbital polisher(5-6" model).

Comes off easy.

Though I know it will not shine like an automobile finish, it did pretty good. I could see my face on the finish, not perfectly(mirror like) clear but pretty good.

Moved my head to the right of where I polished and I could definitely tell the difference!

I also did a water test. Even though the water beaded and moved down the entire trailer, I believe the area where I applied the polish the water ran faster and kept on moving down the trailer where other areas it ran slower and stopped.

Again this is preliminary, things could change when I get the whole trailer done, but it shows promise.

More news to come....

cruz, what was the cost per bottle and did you have to pay shipping (I hate that). Another product you'll see on this forum and others is Rejex, available on line or I think at True Value Hardware stores. I was thinking of trying that as those that have swear by it. I just did my roof on the Georgetown MH a couple weeks back with Mop n Glo. Two coats and I put it on the AC units too as a test for plastic or whatever the covers are made of. Man looking up at them from the ground do they shine!

Hey when you looked into the shine on the test area did you scare yourself!

The cost for the bottle was 29.99 plus shipping came out to $35 and change.

Its expensive, but I wanted to stay with a product that was dedicated toward fiberglass.

I know other products work, but I was so disappointed with the fading and oxidation on my previous TT that I am trying to be pro-active using a product formulated for it (probably marketing hype but I have to give it a try).

I had used gel wash and protect all on my previous TT but it did not work well for me.

I will also be applying two coats of 303 on the roof and components !

No, was not scared at all, more like horrified !

The Wash

I just completed Phase 1 in getting our mini ready for a coat of polish.

It's hot and muggy in sunny Miami, though it's great to have this weather its a bear to do anything outside other than float in the pool.

First I shopped for a car wash that did not have any wax in it, I just wanted something that would wash it well without stripping the future polish and not be as abrasive as house hold detergents.

I purchased Mequiers car wash and a soft cloth with a wand for washing the sides, i used a soft yellow brush on the wheels and had to use it on the front cap. The bugs from the maiden voyage where glued to it.

I ended up using some good ole elbow grease to get those off. Overall she ended up with a good cleaning.

The seals on the roof are excellent, the caulking is fantastic so no complaints here.

Its midday and too hot for the polish to go on now, will give it a try later this afternoon.

One final note before the pics, I will be purchasing a snow foam cannon for future washing. It will make it a lot easier to keep up with the maintenance on the mini.

Here are some of the pic's i took... The water spouts on each corner of the rain gutter work awesome.

Phase 2 - The Polish

Ok got er done!

Was able to do the entire mini with the Sherhold.

I am really satisfied with the product, now I have to wait for the durability test.

Points:
1. Goes on easy with the orbital polisher, paid only $19.99 at home depot. Did a search on the net and this model got some good reviews.

2. Really easy to take off, all my microfiber towels are damaged so I used an old t-shirt and it came off like butter. It left a very smooth and slippery surface.

3. Shines really well.

I posted some pics including my sons car to show how well it shines.

Next Phase is to spray 303 on the roof, did not get a chance to run to supply store to pick some up today so will have to do it early next.

Hope this helps anybody that might be interested in trying this polish.
