FYI, properly tensioned, toppers do not flap.

They do tend to work slack after a few years, so they should be re-tensioned when that happens.

If the wind is blowing hard enough to flap a properly tensioned topper, it's time to go to the tornado shelter.

Yes but what would the cost if installed at the factory?

Cost aside, I would rather have options installed at the factory. That's why we ordered a fireplace from the factory and didn't get one from Amazon or Walmart. Even the power tongue jack should have been installed at the factory.

My dealer charged me $875 for 3 slide toppers installed at the factory. He said that was his cost (who knows ;-)). I am glad I got them and it appears I may have avoided some leak situations that others with my same model and no toppers have experienced.

Yes for a topper. My previous TT did have one, my current TT does not. There has been debris/leaves/rain water/pine needles etc nearly everytime I pull it in. Each time I cleaned it prior to bringing it in. So, yesterday, ordered a slide topper for a 142" slideout from my original dealer with a price of $501 installed, out the door. Yes, I have the skills, etc to DIY, however I do not have the time presently nor the helper.

I see it as insurance.
