soft spots on roof

I have a friend with a Salem 5th wheel and when he went up to wash his roof the other day he found several soft spots. They are no where near and vents or other places that water would leak through the roof. My old jayco i owned had the same issue. I am directing this to the guys who have more experience than I do but could the soft spots be coming from condensation because there is no ventilation in the roof. I did stick house roofing for years and they are well ventilated to avoid condensation but the rv roof are not. His rubber roof is in excellent condition with no visible holes. it is a 2006 trailer.
