Torn Slide Seal

First big issue with my Coachmen 292BHDS that's just over a year old. Top seal on slide out ripped from main body of camper. Anyone ever seen anything like this happen? Of course they say no warranty and out of pocket expense to fix. It's a 2017 model but a month outta warranty so any thoughts on repair appreciated

Hard to tell, but if this is just the bulb seal that is ripped, easy repair. Order from dealer.
Wiper seal is much harder to replace.

Real PITA to replace. I would gladly pay dealer $400 for that repair.
Most of the wiper seals are an "H" seal, that is screwed or stapled to the interior and exterior walls. Some have a separate "D" seal and some are integrated, hard to tell from the pic. You will have limited space to reach the seal from the interior above the slide to work on it.
Probably a 2 hour repair for the dealer, 6 to 8 for us.
You can get new seals from dealer if you decide to tackle it on your own.
The slide box is probably to high in the opening causing it to bind and rip the slide seal.

Thanks. I contacted FR warranty repair contact person and at least they said to send them pics and have dealer contact them. If it's slide issue first hand that caused it I may have a claim. If not it will be outta pocket expense which is ok.

I understand warranty issues and know all trailers are subject to issues over time. Just need it fixed

I wish you a speedy repair via warranty or out of pocket. The good news is you noticed the seal damage BEFORE the water damage. Make sure the slide box is centered in the hole side to side, up and down with the wiper seals slightly bowed and in contact with (but not crushed against the slide box)
Please keep us posted on your repairs.

Update. I contacted FR Coachmen Warranty Manager and sent an email of inquiry as to getting my issue fixed.

Was informed that I would need to take the camper to my dealer and go from there but they, being Coachmen would be open to working something out.

Long story short the entire seal was replaced and repairs under warranty even though my camper was 2 months out of warranty. Plaza RV worked with Coachmen to get resolution on the seal and in the end it worked out.

Turns out that there was another slide issue to begin with which caused seal to tear from side of camper. Coachmen or FR decided it was on them for problem.

Needless to say I was very pleased with the outcome
