Looks very nice nestled in amongst the trees. Really like this color. Our first Carport was the same color.

Roll the dice with carport purchase

First of all thanks for everyone's input especially to HOMEBREW. I never thought to look at BBB (Better Business Bureau) reviews on the company I was to buy from. With that said, if you look at the BBB rating of the major carport suppliers out there (Carolina Carport, Tri State Carports, Eagle Carports, Elephant Structures, and etc) you will find a BIG FAT "F" rating along with an "ALERT" on these businesses which are under investigation for the amount of complaints. It seems that they all have terrible track records with delivery times. I thought I found a good supplier that was accredited by BBB with an "A+" rating. They are Alan's Factory Outlet. So when I purchased with them a carport over the phone, I was shocked when I got the EVerisign document that was an invoice from Carolina Carports. After cancelling the order because I found out that they were just a middle man for Carolina Carports. Now that I have cancelled the order, I can't find anyone that is given good ratings by the BBB, will guarantee to get the carport built/setup in a reasonable amount of time, or will not charge an arm and a leg for it. I guess I have to roll the dice with one of them and pray they don't let me down.

Based on my experience of elephant structures delivered and installed in a timely manner and their prices were very competitive. As stated earlier you'll get a 100 different opinions with who people go with it to install. Good luck with whoever you go with.

Looks really nice. Feels good to get the RV under cover, doesn't it. Is that 5-7 rock on the ground?

After doing tons of research we decided to go a different route to give the sides of our camper more protection from the sun. We placed an order with Bennett Systems for a 24' wide x 31' long x 10' leg height. Bennett's warranty beats Carolina's warranty hands down. We added panels to both of the sides down to 2 and 1/2' above the ground with the back being fully framed and covered. We can position the rear of our camper within 2 feet of the rear wall and get complete protection from the sun. Also with the 3' - 12' roof pitch and approximately 1 foot of height gained from the corner roof joints, we are gaining almost 4 feet of extra height above our 10 foot leg height. My advice to one and all would be to consider adding at least two 3 foot panels to provide protection from the sun and check out Bennett Buildings if a retailer is near you.

WOW! I went ahead and ordered the Carolina Carport through Alan's Factory Outlet on Feb. 29 and received a phone call yesterday (Mar. 3) to see if they could install it on Thursday Mar. 10. I guess my worries about how long it would take are no longer an issue. Thanks again for every ones input & pics. I'll try to see if I can figure out how to put the pictures up for y'all after they have built it.

Good Luck! I'm happy with mine, I guess it just depends on the install crews for one's area on whether they get good service on the delivery and installs.....

Our 24'w x 30' x 10' leg height Bennett carport was installed yesterday.

I offer the following to anyone who might be struggling with what size to get. My camper is 27' long from the rear of the spare tire to the tip of the tongue, and 9.7' tall at the AC unit. It has a slide room that extends the 8' camper width by an additional 26".

The 10' carport leg height offers plenty of clearance to get on the roof of the camper. With the 3'/12' roof pitch and 24' width, the center roof clearance is a measured 14' above the floor. The clearance above the actual leg height is increased by one foot because of the height gain of the curved rafter joists of this style carport.

With our f250 parked alongside, there is ample room to walk around both vehicles and enter them without fear of smacking the sides while opening the doors. In the attached picture, we have the slide room extended.

So, this size works well for our size truck and camper and offers almost full protection from the sun on three sides.

One concern we still have is that the front still gets full sun in the afternoon. I am thinking there must be some type of light inexpensive fabric I could use to cover just the front of the camper. I would welcome any ideas.
