I can't say enough good about vent covers! We use our trailer mainly during the excessively hot summer here using A/C and usually never open the vents. I have those pillow like things stuffed in them, then one of the insulated foil covers over that. Last year when getting ready for the first of season trip it was cool and I decided to open all the windows and vents. Imagine my surprise when I found the living room vent had pretty much disintegrated. My maxair vent cover did its job well for who knows how many months or even years, not a drop of water came through despite many torrential downpours. I still haven't installed the new lid yet, just covered the hole with heavy duty aluminium foil and put the Maxair back on until it warms up and I have time. We camped for nearly two months like that through many showers and not a drop inside. When I removed it to figure out what I have to do to replace the vent lid, the old vent lid plastic just crumbled as I tried to pick it up. I suspect the lid had been deteriorated for a couple years before I discovered it. I put my Maxair covers on the day I purchased the unit in 2011 and they have certainly saved me a lot of damage; well worth the cost.
