Vent Covers

Looking for the brand of vent covers on the Flagstaff trailers. It's a 2011. My cracked under the weight of the snow. I was shopping for some and there are different brands out there and not sure which one is on the camper.

Vent covers are pretty much run-of-the-mill standard across all models. Most vents are standard 14x14, so pretty much any cover you want will work. I had MaxxAir vent covers installed on my Class C. But, there are others... here's a link to vent covers at Camping World, but you can also get them cheaper at Amazon....

Sorry I think you miss understood me Toad. I was talking about the plastic covers that get cranked up. It's pretty much got shattered. I'm assuming if I'm just changing the cover I need to know the brand because of the different hinge designs.

ahhh. sorry about that. :-( Yes, those are going to be different. They may have a brand name on them, or you may be able to look at the manufacturer's site to see which brand/type they use....

But to that point it is a good idea to get the high raise covers such as the MaxxAir also. You can leave the vent open almost all the time while traveling and while in storage. If you do get them get the ones that you can easy open them for cleaning out anything that might work it's way under the cover

Plus what happens without a secondary vent cover like a Maxair or equivalent...is that the UV rays wreak havoc on the covers you are talking about which is probably why yours cracked and broke...a vent cover over top that will give you added protection and as another post said, you can leave it open even in rainy weather.

All you need is to know the hinge style on your current covers. You'll then be able to purchase replacements easily enough.

I need to replace one on my 2015 Rockwood Signature Ultralite 8311SS (another snow-related issue!).
Tande - could I ask which one you used?
Thanks

OMG! ....I wish I could tell you....been awhile.....it basically boils down to a couple of "Hinge/Styles".....I simply took mine with me to the RV parts counter & from there, no problem......I have since decided to change these every 2/3 yrs. .....the price for a potential water leak, is to high......YMMV......I know, not much help but its the best I can tell ya......

I can't say enough good about vent covers! We use our trailer mainly during the excessively hot summer here using A/C and usually never open the vents. I have those pillow like things stuffed in them, then one of the insulated foil covers over that. Last year when getting ready for the first of season trip it was cool and I decided to open all the windows and vents. Imagine my surprise when I found the living room vent had pretty much disintegrated. My maxair vent cover did its job well for who knows how many months or even years, not a drop of water came through despite many torrential downpours. I still haven't installed the new lid yet, just covered the hole with heavy duty aluminium foil and put the Maxair back on until it warms up and I have time. We camped for nearly two months like that through many showers and not a drop inside. When I removed it to figure out what I have to do to replace the vent lid, the old vent lid plastic just crumbled as I tried to pick it up. I suspect the lid had been deteriorated for a couple years before I discovered it. I put my Maxair covers on the day I purchased the unit in 2011 and they have certainly saved me a lot of damage; well worth the cost.
