Vinyl trim molding screw covers

We have a 2013 Forest River 264L Cherokee TT. The white vinyl trim molding screw covers, located vertically on both front corners and horizontally across the back near the rubber roof, is cracking. Our dealer has gone out of business. We bought an extended warranty through our dealer that is honored at other authorized dealers for repairs. I checked at another dealer about bringing it in for these repairs and was told this is not a warranty issue. He told me that I could change it myself. I'm kind of handy, but I want it done right because I know it is important. I see that there are different width moldings on the market. What size do I need for my TT? Is this something that I should just take to a dealer for repair? And lastly, is this really not a warranted item?
Thanks.

Hi,
I replaced the vinyl screw covers on my old trailer. The replacement is really easy as long as you get the correct size. You need to measure fron edge to edge of the track or old material. The material comes flat in a roll but is convex when installed. I also removed each screw one at time that was behind the vinyl screw cover. After removing one screw at a time, you might see like I did, some were rusted which indicates water infiltration. I pumped each screw hole with Decor sealant and reinstalled the screw to stop the water infiltration.
I would not say it is a warranty issue but more of a owner maintenance issue.

I have replaced the trim you are talking about on our 2013 Puma its not hard or overly expensive. Ours was over the two years old & did not have an extended warranty but it probably would not have covered it. I have seen over the years extended warranties do not cover much.

Thanks everyone for responding. I bought the vinyl trim and sealant and did the entire job in less than an hour this past weekend.

Did you pull the screws and put sealant in the holes? Were any screws rusted? Glad you got it done.

I did not pull the screws out. They were not rusted. The vinyl moldings had just recently begun to crack. There was no damage found upon inspection.

Thanks for the help.
