Washing Trailer at Campground

No, never wash while camping. (I have a handy hose and street drain right next to the house where we park Rocky for our comings and goings.)

I washed half of mine once until a very annoyed ranger told me to stop or leave. Must have had a bad night. Haven't done it since.

I do not wash mine there but one or the largest campgrounds on the east coast seems to allow it but many people store also there trailers there (About 3000) you have no access to your trailer in storage unless they tow it to your site. (Part of the fee & security).... But many wash theirs there on the sites & also see numerous commercial washes come in.

I would ask first.

It's pricey to start-up (but once you have the gear the replacement liquids are not too bad. Oh and it makes your rig look GOOOOOOD

My RV Park allows you to wash your rig but not your tow vehicles. They want clean rigs to promote the park.

As a general rule most campgrounds will say NO!, Some will say "For a fee". Others will say Ok but they are mostly in those areas where water is plentiful (the north). But realistically, the previous comments are appropriate. It costs money buy, to purify and pump water. If a campground with 400 sites allowed everyone to wash their rigs, there would be thousands of gallons used. Every campsite has commercial companies that will come in and wash (with their own water) for a fee.

I just stop at our local truck wash on the way home. It's about 20 or 25 bucks and I don't have to do it. The only down side is sometimes the line can move quiete slow.

My wife and I travel from Indiana to Florida each winter with our unit. We stay at an RV resort and I've asked if it is alright to do the bucket wash and wipe. They have allowed us to do that. It works just fine. I make sure my unit gets washed and waxed each spring. They do have people that come around that will do your units. I believe you have a fee to have this done.

If you're going to be at the Rally in August, look us up. Ron will wash your unit without using water for $3 per foot, (if he is allowed). We will be in a black and grey 36' Georgetown. Last year most of us Georgetowners were parked closely together.

Shurhold makes several washes and polishes and brushes and polishers. I use the spray and wipe, very easy to use and then polish. Got the tip from rv dealer in AL. Several folks sell it on INEt, get mine at Amazon. About two washes a year works great. Have heard of several roof washes, liquid Tide works great for me, does not clean out stains totally, but does lighten them up to medium gray.

I've found most state parks say, No. A easy way to remove bugs from the front of the trailer is to use a dryer sheets. It removes the bugs without having to use water. There is a private park in Navarre that allows you to wash it at your site.
