Waterleak WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Just got a new Cedar Creek 34RLSA on Tuesday PM. Went camping Thursday and it started to rain outside and inside the unit. Lots of water running down the wall, dripping from the seam in the ceiling onto the couch. 2 days old, did it leak while on the dealers lot also? They would not have seen unless inside unit when it was raining. I think I should get a new replacement unit, they want to repair it. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Sorry about your circumstance!
The first resolution would be repair unfortunately.
Is it a 2013?
I would push hard for the factory to replace whole roof if in fact that's the issue.

Water leak

This is a 2012 unit. Only area I think it could be is under the air conditioner.

You need to get it back to the dealer to investigate the source of the water leak and take it from there. Don't be afraid to deal directly with Forest River yourself if you're not satisfied with the actions (or lack of) of the dealer.

Water leaks are a big deal! A 2012 unit probably has been at the dealer for a time. The water you see coming down on the couch is probably only one place the water has penetrated. In my case, a water leak at the bathroom sky light, replaced a month after I took delivery, turned into a complete replacement of both sides and roof at the factory a little less than two years later.

Be persistent, take photos of everything, and keep a journal of events. I ended up with a very positive experience with Forest River, but I am not certain it would have turned out that way if I had not documented everything along the way.

Good luck.

My roof leaked on delivery at the air conditioner seal. The unit had been improperly torqued to the roof. The yellow torque tabs were crushed on one side and actually under the seal on the other.

A new seal and a properly re-installed AC solved my water problem.

If it is a bad seal INSIST on a new one. Dirt under the seal will allow water to eventually work its way under one that is just re-torque'ed.

air conditioner leaks inside
