Wax & black streaks

It's that time of year to get the 'ol RV out of hibernation.

I've read here in the past that it is recommended to wax the exterior to help minimize black streaks. Does it matter exactly what type of wax? Is a readily available RV wax okay? Is automotive was like Turtle wax or one of the many other varieties any better? What about Meguiar's? Are all waxes going to work the same on an RV in terms of black streaks? And is there any difference in using wax on fiberglass or aluminum exteriors?

Black streaks suck..... And around here with all the non-stop winter rain, we also get green algae crap growing in crevices. We are looking at getting a cover for next winter.
