What to use for washing roof?
OK, this is probably a dumb question, but here it goes. What should I use to wash the roof on our 2012 Grey Wolf?
I was just going to use the same Meguairs Deep Crystal car wash that I use on all our vehicles and the camper, but just wanted to make sure that it was ok to use on the roof also. Is it ok to use or something else?

I've used simple green or turtle wax car wash shampoo.

Our PDI guy advised liquid dish soap, but nothing fruit scented because "crows will peck at it until they damage it".

If the roof is EPDM, Murphy's Oil Soap is what the manufacturer recommends.

Dave --
Do you use it straight, or dilute it?
What do you use to treat it afterward?

I have only ever used two types on the roof: Murphy's Oil Soap or Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner. My roof is TPO so double check these can be used with EPDM.
Here's a couple of pictures of my roof from the fist cleaning this year. I had not covered the trailer over the winter so it was exceptionally dirty. It was the worst it had ever been and the Simple Green really did a good job. I would mop it on, wait a few minutes for it to soak in and do its job, then scrub with a sturdy brush and rinse.
Before, During and After shots ...

I mix it as per the directions on the bottle for floors. I treated the roof once with the 303 RV Roof Protectant but haven't bothered since.

My Dealer told me to use Tide Laundry soap. Camper is new and I've yet to wash the roof. It feels like rubber.

I would worry about a slippery roof while using dish or laundry soap, one wrong step, and its 10-15 feet down.

I've used Spic n Span for 2 years with good results. It's recommended for rubber roofs - along with TSP and Full Timer's Choice (by Camco).

We use a cleaner/degreaser spray on let sit about 10 min very little elbow grease with med brush rinse off no suds involved and we get 3- 40ft 5th wheels with slides that's roof front back and sides out of 1 gal and is a green product for $10.00 gal.

Thanks for the replys! Tomorrow I am going to start cleaning the roof, awning and rest of the exterior of the camper. I think I am going to use Simple Green on the roof and awning since I have a couple gallons of it in the garage already, then the rest of the camper will get washed with the Meguiars car wash.
