For sealing around windows and speakers not the roof, would roofing silicon work?

X2 to Comanche. I really don't use silicone for anything now because when you come back a year later it is filthy with dirt that can not be washed off. Will try Lexel

You would probably be better off using Aerospace 303 protectorant on the seals. Over spray(if any) should not hurt your siding. For the top seal I tape a rag to a broom handle and spray it with 303. I can get top and underneath seal with the broom handle while on a ladder.

Try DAP 230 Sealant, It goes on white (can see where you missed) Dries Clear and is just as flexible as Silicone. Also another plus it is soap and water clean up till it sets.

I’ve used silicone for over 12 years on my camper and love it!

Just a word of caution - someone mentioned cleaning up the silicon with a few different chemicals including MEK. I found that the paint our our aluminum sided TT is VERY thin and while trying to remove some sealant that the factory slopped onto the siding. I saw bare aluminum after just a couple strokes with a rag and a petroleum based cleaner.

Just today I got up on the roof to give it a good cleaning, and found a couple of areas in the rear seam with small holes in the Dicor. I noticed in the corner moldings there was black silicone, with Dicor right up against it. I could take the silicone and peel it right off.

Not 100% sure but I believe the silicone may have contributed towards the 1/4" split I saw in the Dicor since it was overlapping the silicone. You can see where I peeled some of the black silicone away as well as some of the Dicor. Now to figure out how I want to deal with this and never have this problem again...

What's the big deal on not using silicone?

I would completely clean it up. Pull up all that comes off easily with the fingers. Clean thoroughly with goo be gone, followed by water. Then mineral spirits, followed by alcohol. Eternabond also has a special cleaner. After a thorough cleaning, you could use Eternabond tape.
