Windjammer 3008 White strip Molding

Over the past year over 75% of the white strips have fallen of the top and bottom of our unit. The WJ is only 3 years old. I purchased 200' of the white strips last year. I decided to tackle this today. The white strip fits inside a moulding. At each end the strip is folded over and a type of clip slides in the back and then folds over the end. This was done, but, there is no way to hold it there while caulk dries. I'm trying the figure out a way, maybe a brad nail which would be practically invisible. It's too bad this wasn't designed to clip and stay. If anybody has done this or has suggestions, I'd appreciate it.
