2006 Salem LE 27BHSS awning repositioning

Hi, my sister and I just purchased a 2006 Salem LE 27BHSS. It had only been used 3 times; is in pristine condition and we got a great deal. Whoever installed awning installed the right arm of it over the front lower see through storage unit door. We can get to items from other side, but I would really like to reposition awning about 10" to the left. It doesn't appear that it would interfere with the large storage door where the bunks are, so I think it would be ok. Is this something that can be done without too much trouble?

Or another idea I had is to shorten the arm of the awning on the right side, but I don't know if that is at all feasible. I would have to research this more.
