2nd Year Forest River Warranty - Any tips on use?

We have had our rig for about 20 months. On a recent trip to the Hershey RV show, we noticed just how tight the friction hinge doors are on the new units. Our door just flaps in the wind.

I called Lippert to inquire about adjustments, but they said the hinges get replaced. I have the 2nd year Forest River Warranty, so I figured I should make good use of it.

I called my dealer where I purchased the unit and the earliest they can get me in is 11/19. Our last camping trip was this past weekend, so it's no big deal for me... but I would feel bad for folks with serious problems needing work who still camp in the Fall.

Has anyone used their 2nd year warranty? Is it easy and painless or are there some tips you might suggest to make things go smoother?

Thanks!
Ron

I was pretty sure fr did away with the 2nd year warranty last year, but I guess you might be one of the lucky ones.

I'd rather be Lucky than Good

Thanks!

You are lucky to have gotten the FR 2ND year Warranty! Most of the member's who used the 2nd year Warranty had No Issues, most "Hangups/Problems /Hassels/" came from Dealers! Some Divisions still have a "Longer Warranty "but we/I"am addressing the "Pay additional 2nd year of the Past Warranty! Youroo! !

I used mine at an authorized repair shop (my selling dealer) and they took care of everything. No hassle, no fuss. If you take it to an "unauthorized" repair shop, you will need to pay the repair shop and apply for reimbursement. I would get and estimate and submit to FR before authorizing work though.

I have a 2yr warranty. Read the warranty carefully as 2 year structural warranty. Other items like awnings, slide out motors, etc are 1 year.

Forest River extended warranty

We purchased a new Forest River Vibe in July. I tried to sign up for the factory extended warranty and was informed that they no longer offer it. I was looking to getting the inexpensive extension. Sucks.

Must be a Division thing because our unit was Covered "Bumper to Bumper" under the old FR 2nd year Warranty that you paid for After Purchase! Youroo! !

Here is what mine says. In my case... the door hinge has failed. The way I read it, I've covered.

We are in the process of getting some new seat cushions that the stitches failed on with our 2nd year warranty. We went straight through FR, contacts on the website.

If you are close to the end date of the warranty, I would take a bunch of pictures or videos of the issue and send directly to FR before you go to the dealer or see if there is an appoved mobile tech in your area to look at it.

We tried to go to the local dealer to fix some warranty work and all I got was a new battery, that I had to pay for because they killed my 4 month old battery because it sat in the lot for 5 months, and they never fixed the issues, I had to do it myself.

Good luck!

Back in 2007, when i got the 2nd year factory warranty, it was exactly the same as the original 1 year warranty.

X2

When I bought mine in 2015. Forest River replaced my Dometic awning with one month left on my second year warranty. It was no hassle.
