Awning arms not extending

Some time ago I posted a thread(now closed) asking for advice on a domestic awning where the arms would not release when opening the awning. I did get some excellent advice and was also waiting for a repair or fix by the dealer.

The dealer installed a Domestic Awning Bumper Kit. This did help but is only part of the solution.

The rest of the solution I have found has to do with the size of the awning and the trailer design. The trailer is a 2014 Windjammer 3008W with two slides on the opposite side of the awning. If the trailer is level before extending the slides, the slides will tilt the trailer enough that the awning will not work properly. Having the trailer raised with a 2 by 8 under the slide side does the trick, then extend the stabilizers, the slides, then the awning and all works fine.

The second issue, is with the awning itself. This is a long awning (21 feet) and it must also be centered properly. I had to do some adjustment on the awning to get it centered.

Hope this helps others dealing with similar awning issues.
