I have a 2010 FR Lexington. Just bought a RV Innovations Awning clamp to prevent unfurling of the awning during travel. The instructions have me drilling 8 holes above and below the awning to anchor the mounting brackets with stainless steel screws. I hove no idea what's under the "skin" of the RV. Has anyone used this product? I am concerned about anchoring into something solid to provide support. Thanks.

I'm not ready to put any holes in my travel yet so I opted for the awning straps from CW.
I was thinking the same thing. Don't really want to drill. I was reading that the straps won't stop the awning from billowing out even if the awning arms are still in place. Of course, that's just reading. I'm new at this and haven't been on but a couple of trips. Thanks for the reply.
I installed these early last season, and haven't had a problem. They come with a rubber sealant gasket that protects the small holes that you drill. Saw an awniing unfurl on a 5'er being towed on an interstate, and it was enough of a mess that scared me into buying the kits. I have a 19' awning, so I needed two straps.
