I looked at that and it says that you can not retract the awning with the cover in place. It would be pretty difficult without a carrying a ladder to re-install the awning after opening it.

I made hinged covers for just the ends that work great for keeping the water out of the ends of the awning.

Hold up great, put them on before heading to Goshen rally and had made provisions to tie them down, but after traveling 3500 miles to the rally and beyond, they never flopped any. Towed thru some horrendous downpours on the way home on I40 and when we stopped for the night, I deployed the awning to see if it had taken on water and it hadn't. Quite satisfied with them.

Nope, just lazy and cheap. Don't/didn't want to have to get a ladder out to put full length covers on that don't protect the end when driving into a rain.

Can you deploy and retract the awning with the covers in place? Could the full length covers be used in conjunction with your covers?

Could, but you would still have to get a ladder out and take off and re-install the other covers.

O C do you have a parts list? This is a must have, I hate having to clean the awning even when it hasn't moved.

I went to Lowes and bought a 24" length of 6" pvc pipe and an end cover and ordered a 4' length of 1" stainless piano hinge on ebay. Cut a 14" long pc of the 6" pvc and then split it to give me 2 pcs approx. 8" wide measured around the curve, rounded the edges with a belt sander so it wouldn't mark the awning material. Painted it white with a paint for plastic and cut the end cap to fit on one end. Pop riveted (3/16" large head) (removed the mandrel that breaks off in the rivet and hammered the hollow stub flat on the rivet) a 14" of the hinge to one edge, drilled 3 holes in the loose side of the hinge and used ss screws to attach to the awning rail. Installed hinge right over the vinyl filler strip. Filled the holes drilled in the camper side with silicone caulk and installed the screws. I did some modifying of the front to facilitate the lock I have. If you don't have the lock, there is no need to modify the motor end. You might have to heat and flatten the pvc slightly to make sure it doesn't 'catch' on the awning when deploying. Heat before painting.
