Need more info. such as brand & model of awning, electric or manual and if manual, what process is used to open it? Pull down on the black strap or turn the gear mechanism on one side with a hooked rod?

Uh, oh.....not familiar with those. Sorry....is there a release lever to reverse the rotation to unwind or do you just turn your rod in the opposite direction?

Did you ensure that you first lifted the operating rod all the way up and turned it CCW aprox 1/2 turn and then dropped it into the slots and turned it CW just asking.

What RV is this on? I don't know of any FR product that has a Thule manual awning.

Didn't know that Rpods had Thule awnings, instead of Dometic awnings.
