Awning hit door while retracting

I was retracting my awning on my 2016 Sunseeker while standing outside with the door open. One of the channels on the front of the awning hit the top of the door bending it pretty bad. Now to me this is a design flaw, it should not have been able to hit the door. I did manage with quite a bit of effort to close the awning. Now I have to find a part if possible to fix it or whatever.

I had the same issue while shopping for a Rockwood Roo 24WS. I damaged the arm pretty badly. There should be some sort of door stop.

When we had our walk-thru for our 2018 Sunseeker, the guy specifically warned us to be careful w/the door; said he was demonstrating the power awning on another walk-thru & did the same thing, himself!
