Awning repair question...

We just got a new-to-us Forest River Flagstaff 831BHSS. We knew the awning was bad and had planned to replace it, but now that we have had a chance to really look at the awning, we are thinking that many there is a way to fix it at a reduced cost. Only about the first 10-12 inches on the part closest to the camper is ripped (and repaired with tape). Is there a way to trim off that area and then somehow reattach it to the camper? This awning thing is all new to me, but I can fix most everything else....

need to know which awning you have and then do a search on awning material for that brand

I know the awning I have on my 2306 can have the material replaced for about $200 to $250 if I had to do myself

depending on what material your awning is made out of you might be able to take it off and then to a upholstry place and have a new piece sewn in but dont think it would look right and most likely will come apart at that seam
