Awning replacement

Anyone ever replace an awning? Mine seems old (2009) considering replacing it. It’s really just the awning material that is beat up, but completely new awning would be nice...It’s a motorized awning. I don’t want to pay someone to do it if it’s not difficult.

I have never replaced the fabric. Although I have read and watched videos. It is likely somewhat easier with a motorized awning, or should I say safer without a giant spring-loaded roller tube that can result is serious injury if mistakes are made. I assume replacing just the fabric is much easier than replacing the entire awning from my research. However, if the cost of a new awning over just the fabric is affordable, why not just pay the factory trained professionals to install a new awning and enjoy?
